Socket Weld Fittings Types and Applications

Socket Weld Full Coupling

Pipe fittings are the parts used to connect one or more pipes together and provide in-line branching and turning. Pipe fittings are often sold as one of three different types: butt-weld, threaded, screwed, or socket weld.

Fittings with socket welds are pipe attachments that come with a socket and a counter hole, which can be used to insert the pipe into a recessed portion of a flange or fitting. Seal welds of the fillet type with each other to connect the valves or pipelines to the other portions of the pipe.

Types of Socket Weld Fittings Types

Full-coupling

A Socket Weld Full Coupling is a pipe fitting, which would connect two pipes or a nipple. It is also known as a socket weld coupler.

Half coupling

While these are sometimes used by themselves, they are frequently found in conjunction with another half-coupling. A half coupling is a coupling that is inserted into the end of a run pipe to provide a female threaded end connection.

Reducing coupling

It is beneficial to combine two pipes with different outer diameters.

Reducer insert

They contribute to the cost-effective and timely combination of pipeline reductions in compliance with MSS SP-79.

Socket Weld Union

It is a screwed connection design made up of three interwoven components. It has two internal threads and a center that, when rotated, draws the ends together. It is widely used in industrial sectors such as petrochemical, oil and gas, food processing, chemical processing, marine, utilities, etc.

Socket weld Elbow

It is used in piping systems that have high working pressures and temperatures, where the pipe walls are thick. The pipe is inserted into the socket and fillet welds are made on both sides of the joint. Socket weld fittings can be supplied in any standard material specification.

Socket welding Straight and Reducing Tee

The socket weld tee is a specialized piece of pipe equipment that is used in the construction of piping systems. It helps to create a 90-degree branch off the main course of a pipe. The tee connects to another piece of the same diameter pipe that forms the head of the tee, and it contains one or more openings into which other pipes can be connected.

Socket Weld Cross

By using the Cross, a 90-degree branch could also be made away from the main run.

Socket Weld Cap

End caps are cap-shaped caps. Pipe ends are sealed with it.

Applications of Socket weld Fittings

Socket Weld Fittings are designed for use in low- to medium-pressure applications in restricted spaces. They are used throughout a wide variety of industries and may be found in marine, chemical, and petrochemical environments.

Socket Weld Fittings are also referred to as Socket Weld Pipe Fittings, and they are commonly used in areas where plumbing is considered permanent. They have superior flow properties due to their design, which allows them to function effectively without adding unnecessary pressure to the system.
